Be Part of the Final Count

Throughout Scripture, there are moments when God reveals a final count.

Only eight people entered the ark with Noah. Gideon began with 32,000 men, but God reduced his army to 300. Jesus appeared to more than 500 people after His resurrection, yet only 120 gathered in the upper room.

The first number was not the one that ultimately mattered. What mattered was who remained faithful, obedient, and willing to follow God.

Romans 9 reminds us that being connected to faith through family or heritage is not enough. A relationship with God cannot be inherited from our parents, grandparents, pastor, or anyone else. Each of us must personally respond to His promise.

The 120 people in the upper room were not perfect. They carried guilt, doubt, skepticism, ambition, and past failures. But they continued together in prayer, worship, and supplication. They allowed God to reveal what needed to change and were willing to repent and make things right.

Sometimes we must ask God to search our hearts. There may be attitudes to surrender, wounds to release, commitments to renew, or sins that require repentance.

God is not looking for people who have never struggled. He is looking for people who will remain, surrender, and allow Him to transform them.

When everything else is counted and all is said and done, nothing is more important than being part of the final count.
